(the FAQ section is currently being built... so if you don't see anything below, or you just see 1 or 2 of em, and they don't solve your problem... e-mail us using the info. above!)
Question:
I've noticed in the forum you saying you've added several new people to the Acousticism playlist, but when I go to listen to the player, its shows the same number of songs as it had when I last checked it out. It does not to seem to want to up-date. Anything I can do on my end to help that? Like changing a setting somewhere?
Answer:
You shouldn't have this problem, however, we have had this question come up so, just to let you know, some internet web browsers may not automatically update our music player. This is because some browsers will automatically save our music player's playlist into it's cache. Why? Just cause. Theres no way to fix this problem. So, if your browser doesn't update the playlist, then its just not going to update the playlist, automatically that is. HOWEVER, you can manually, every now and then, reset some of your browser settings which WILL fix this problem. The first thing you should try is while on the playlist page, just click your browser's refresh button. If it still doesn't seem to update, try it again. After refreshing your browser a couple times if the music player STILL does not seem like it wants to update, then you're going to have to empty your browser's cache. You see, your browser stores data from websites that you visit into it's cache, this just helps the browser load pages that you frequently visit faster. Each browser is set up a little differently, however I will explain how to do this with Internet Explorer, the most popular web browser. To empty Internet Explorer's Cache go to "Tools" on your file menu, then click on "Internet Options". You are then going to want to delete any "Temporary Internet Files" that your browser may have stored. So, click on "Delete Cookies" and also click on "Delete Files". This will get rid of all your Temporary Internet files and then, the next time you visit our playlist player page, the player should be all updated for you. Yes, it sucks if you have to do this, however, you won't regret it, because we're going to be adding more and more awesome, talented, acoustic artists everyday! Plus, you don't even have to do this everyday if you don't want to... Just once a week go into your Internet Options and delete the Temporary Internet files. This is good for your computer anyway... keeps it running faster deleting temporary files! If you are using a different browser then the steps above may be a little different, but basically you just have to find your browser's preferences and delete the cookies and cache.
Question:
When I'm listening to the player the music keeps skipping and/or stopping then restarting! What's going on!?
Answer:
All of the mp3 files in the playlist are of fairly high quality. It's not like most internet radio player that might lower the quality of the mp3 so it loads faster. We don't degrade the quality of the mp3 that is submitted because we want our listeners to hear good quality sounding audio. SO, if you are on a dial-up connection, or for some other reason your internet connection is slow, you MAY experience "choppy" play back when listening to the music player. If you use a DSL or Cable connection, this will not be a problem.
Question:
I submitted my music to be added to the Acousticism playlist. It was added, but, why am I at the bottom of the current list?
Answer:
It's simple. The order of songs on the playlist is done on a first come, first serve basis. In other words, the songs are added to the playlist in the order they were submitted, so, if someone submits their music before you, you'll be after them. BUT, don't worry, just because you are near the bottom of the playlist doesn't mean your music won't get played. In fact, a lot of times people who are at the bottom of the playlist are actually played first! Read the next question to see why and how.
Question:
Does the order of the playlist ever change, and if my music is put at or near the bottom of the playlist does that mean there is less of a chance that my music will get played?
Answer:
The playlist order RARELY changes. In the future, we may change the order that the songs are listed, however, it is not really neccesary, which will help answer the next part of this question. Which is no, if you're towards the bottom of playlist you have just as much of a chance of getting plays as the person at the very top of the playlist. This is because every single time the player is opened, it shuffles through the playlist. So, it doesn't matter if your song is at the bottom, top, or middle, everyone gets an equal chance of their music being played because the player randomly chooses which song it will play, it does NOT play the songs in order. So you see, it doesn't matter what order you are on the actual list.
Question:
How do I get my music on Acousticism!!!!???
Answer:
Just CLICK HERE and follow the instructions in the first post.
Question:
If I submit my music, does that automatically mean I'll get added to the playlist?
Answer:
No. We can't promise anything. If your music doesn't sound like music that should be in the acoustic genre, then it won't be added. Also, there may be other reasons why your music isn't added, however, if we don't add it, will send you a private message letting you know why we didn't add it.
Question:
I submitted several songs, why did you only choose one to be put on the playlist?
Answer:
Storage is scarce. Acousticism's playlist is a free service to artists and current this site brings in $0. We don't make anything at this website, we are here because we love acoustic music. Since we don't make any money though, this means that we also don't have money to buy extra web space. Therefore, no matter how many songs you submit, we have the right to only choose one or MAYBE two songs to be added to the playlist.
Question:
Can ANYONE join Acousticism?
Answer:
YES! You don't have to be a singer/songwriter or play acoustic music to join Acousticism. If you're just a listener, fan, or even if you play music in different genres other than acoustic, it doesn't matter, ANYONE can join Acousticism! HOWEVER, nothing but acoustic music will be added to the playlist, AND acoustic/singer-songwriter topics are all that are talked about here. We are a music community dedicated to Acoustic / Singer-Songwriter music only.
Question:
I tried going to www.acousticismmusic.com and the site was down... I thought maybe that was the end for acousticism... what happened?
Answer:
No, that wouldn't be the end of Acousticism, we plan on sticking around for a long time. If you ever go to www.acousticismmusic.com and it takes you to an error page or says the page can not be found, chances are the servers are down so try again later or the next day. If you're still having problems getting to the site after 24 hours, then the problem could be bigger then just the servers being down so just make a note of this: You can always just come straight to the boards here if the main site is ever down. Because here at the boards would be where we would post information about why the site is down and how long it will be down. So, once again if the site is ever down, you can always go to
http://acousticism.14.forumer.com
this address will take you straight to the boards. |
