Rey Varela is Acousticism's very first artist of the month!

Who the heck is Rey Varela you ask?

If you're here because you know me and I begged you to come visit this page, then you know I'm a complete and total nut. If you have stumbled here by accident ......well, let me tell you a little about myself.
I've been in the music scene since the mid seventies, primarily I played bass and wrote songs in a band called Toxic and I played the greater Los Angeles area for a few years. I had a ton of fun and I made some decent money playing the club scene and Toxic quickly became one of the hardest working cover and original bands on the circuit.

I left all that for many years to start a family, only ocassionally keeping an acoustic guitar near by for creativness, untill the year 2000 when I decided to give it a go again. This time I had no choice but to go it on my own, being a dedicated family man has left me to my own devices musically.

Hear Rey's music and do a lot more at his site reyvarela.net

you may reply to this if you would like to leave comments about Rey's music!!

This guy has cool songs about subjects that we should all be thinking about everyday. I took a listen to all of his songs on Soundclick. "The Recipe" was probobly my favorite. Its got an upbeat tempo with an important message. A close second was "I Know" . This song is about something that I personally deal with almost daily and related instantly with.
